Flowering tea, also known as blooming tea, is a beautiful example of traditional Chinese tea craftsmanship, combining the delicate flavours of premium green tea with the natural beauty of flowers.
Each flowering tea is carefully handcrafted by tying tender Mao Feng green tea leaves around colourful blossoms. When placed in hot water, the tightly bound leaves slowly unfurl, revealing the flowers hidden within. The result is a beautiful floral display that transforms an ordinary cup of tea into a captivating experience.
The art of flowering tea originated in China, where skilled tea artisans developed techniques for hand-binding tea leaves and flowers into intricate shapes.
As the tea blossoms, it releases a delicate, pale golden-green infusion with a gentle vegetal character, smooth taste and fragrant notes of jasmine.

How to enjoy this tea
Steep one flowering tea ball in 400–600 ml of water at 80–85°C for approximately 3–5 minutes.
For best results:
1. Place one flowering tea ball in a clear glass teapot or heat-resistant glass vessel.
2. Gently pour hot water at 80–85°C over the tea ball, allowing plenty of room for the leaves to expand.
3. Allow the tea to infuse for 3–5 minutes, watching as the leaves gradually unfurl to reveal the flowers within.
4. Once fully bloomed, pour into cups and enjoy the delicate floral infusion.
5. The same flowering tea ball can be infused up to 2–3 times, increasing the steeping time slightly for subsequent infusions.
Serving suggestion: Use a transparent glass teapot to fully appreciate the beautiful blooming process.
