Go to the shopTulsi (Ocimum sanctum) also known as Holy Basil, is an aromatic plant from the Mint family. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and widespread throughout the Southeast Asian tropics like Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal, etc.
It is revered among the Hindus and worshipped in specially built shrines! Elsewhere, like in Thailand, it is used as a herbal ingredient to add flavour to their cooking. And yet elsewhere, the plant is just brewed to create a delicious satisfying cup of tea full of natural goodness.
It is a well known adaptogen that helps the body adapt to stress and to exert a normalizing effect in bodily processes which in turn increases resistance to stress, fatigue, anxiety and trauma, as it has a calming effect. It naturally pushes your body toward better health!
When brewed it has the some aroma of cloves and its leaves mimic the sharp, crisp flavors of pepper with some added cooling effects of menthol.
