Natural Caffeine Free Herbal Infusion

Greek Mountain tea, Sideritis sp. (Ironwort) tea comes from hardy perennial plants which grow on high altitudes in the Balkan Peninsula. The plant’s Latin name comes from the Greek word "sideros," meaning iron, due to the ancient folk tales of the Sideritis plant’s healing effect on wounds caused by iron weapons.

Leaves and flowers of the plant are harvested by hand. Once harvested, they are dried, either naturally or artificially by passing dried air through. Upon brewing, the whole leaf tea yields a refreshing light yellow caffeine free infusion with herbaceous notes accentuated by citrus and pepper and smooth sweetish taste.

Greek Mountain tea has always been used as a medicinal herb to treat various ailments from common aches and pains to colds and coughs for time immemorial. Limited clinical studies have also been conducted to support therapeutic applications of the tea to manage osteoporosis. Also initial studies done in Germany have shown that the tea may help in managing Alzheimers.
