Flowering green tea with notes of honey and peach
Double Happiness is a delightful example of traditional Chinese tea craftsmanship, combining the delicate character of premium green tea with colourful flowers and the luscious sweetness of honey and peach.
Each flowering tea is carefully handcrafted by tying tender green tea leaves around marigold and globe amaranth blossoms. When placed in hot water, the tightly bound leaves gradually unfurl, revealing a beautiful floral display. A visual treat that is as enjoyable to watch as it is to drink.
The art of flowering tea originated in China, where skilled tea artisans developed techniques for hand-binding tea leaves and flowers into intricate shapes.
As the tea blossoms, it produces a delicate golden-green infusion with a smooth, refreshing green tea character. Sweet, juicy peach notes are complemented by a mellow honey-like sweetness and gentle floral undertones, creating a wonderfully fruity and fragrant tea with a lingering sweet finish.
The symbolism behind Double Happiness
In Chinese culture, the expression Double Happiness (囍) is traditionally associated with weddings, marriage and the celebration of two people coming together. It symbolises shared joy, love and a happy union.
Flowers also carry symbolic meanings in Chinese and broader floral traditions, adding another dimension to the art of flowering tea.
