Natural caffeine-free herbal infusion
This infusion is a balancing herbal tonic created by blending the leaves and root pieces harvested from the humble dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), a hardy perennial herb known for its bright yellow flowers, native to Eurasia. The name dandelion is a borrowing from the French 'dent de lion' (meaning "lion's tooth") referring to the jagged, serrated edges of the leaves, which resemble the teeth of a lion.
Upon being brewed, it yields a greenish yellow infusion which is light and earthy and full of rustic old world character. It has vegetal and nutty notes with a creamy finish and sweet, mellow almost malty aftertaste.
- Dandelion Root and Leaf tea can be enjoyed either as a hot infusion or cooled down to make an iced tea with ginger, honey and lemon.
- It can be blended with other teas/ingredients like our Lemongrass, Turmeric Root pieces or Ginger to make exciting blends.
- Can also be used as an ingredient to make broth, spice blends, mead etc.
Dandelion has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. Both the leaf and root have distinct health benefits, with our tea being blended offering full-spectrum benefits.
Dandelion leaf primarily supports kidney and urinary tract health and is often used as a mild diuretic. It is used to reduce water retention and bloating while encouraging detoxification via the urinary system.
Dandelion root mainly focuses on the liver and digestive system acting as a mild laxative and appetite stimulant. It also contains inulin, a prebiotic fibre that feeds beneficial gut bacteria. Some early studies suggest it might also help regulate blood sugar levels, though more research is needed.
Finally this tea is rich in minerals like potassium, Calcium and iron and also contains Vitamins A, C and K.
